A range of inspirational events allowing pupils to showcase their skills in public performances and gain personal confidence in performing with their peers.
The annual Schools Music and Dance Festival is a culmination of schools’ work and a showcase of musical excellence. Festival events include: Infant Singing Festival, Junior Singing Festival, KS3 Singing Festival, EYFS Festival, Instrumental Festival (primary and secondary), Dance Festival (primary and secondary) and partnership performance platforms with over 30 network partners. Singing festival resources can be used all year round across the whole school.
What's included?
- Inclusion in borough-wide festivals - admittance for up to 30 children per school for each event (extra children may be accommodated on request).
- Singing festivals include EYFS, infant and junior events, with access to resources for the school all year round.
- Dance festival provides existing school dance groups the chance to showcase their work in front of an audience and their peers, followed by a joint performance by all festival participants.
- Instrumental festival is a chance for existing school instrumental groups to showcase their work, followed by a joint performance by all festival participants.

The Hackney Schools Music and Dance Festival is the biggest and one of the most popular events in the school calendar and one largest single borough schools music festival in London. Held in Hackney’s renowned Round Chapel, the festival provides an opportunity to highlight and celebrate the musical achievements and progress that our young people have made throughout the year, developing children’s confidence and music abilities. The service also provides opportunities to showcase and celebrate the musical talent of young people at other major performances in public venues throughout the year.
Our Music Service is responsive and flexible, with talented teachers and partnerships with world-class national, regional and local ensembles, organisations and groups. We offer advice and guidance on curriculum music and development, as well as support in monitoring progress in music for all. All our music tutors are DBS checked and quality assured.
