Promoting children and young people’s skills and independence by facilitating their participation in everyday activities
Our services support children aged 0-18 who have difficulties with everyday tasks due to a disability, developmental delay or co-ordination difficulty.
We offer advice and/or treatment working on developing children’s ability to participate in everyday tasks such as washing, dressing, play, school based skills, community access and meal preparation.
Children's occupational therapy
The Children's Occupational Therapy service works in partnership with schools to enable children with additional needs to access and participate in activities.
In addition to the NHS service, schools can purchase additional support to develop children and young people's handwriting and independence skills, fine motor and co-ordination skills, sensory processing and regulation for children with or without autism.
This is achieved through a menu of packages including:
- Training packages for staff, for example handwriting and scissor skills, manual handling, sensory processing and regulation
- Support to set up small group work
- Environmental advice
- 1:1 advice and consultation
- Individual sessions
Prices are available on request and the package can be tailored to the needs of your school.
A typical rate is £300 for a half day training session (maximum 12 people).
