Introducing the LIT Programme in your school will boost KS3 reading comprehension, thinking and learning skills
The Literacy Intervention Toolkit (LIT) Programme is a mindful and metacognitive teaching programme that targets the lowest achieving 20% of pupils in Year 7. It aims to accelerate their progress in English, and across the wider curriculum. It enables students to reach age-related expectations by the end of the academic year. The training covers:
- Mindful techniques for teaching reading and writing at KS3
- Specially designed lesson plans and units to accelerate pupil progress
- Essential strategies to develop spoken communication skills
- Guidance on marking, assessment and delivering effective feedback
The LIT programme has achieved local and national recognition and recent progress data shows pupils making 3 to 4 years of progress in a single academic year.
