An outstanding residential location
Kench Hill is Hackney Education’s residential facility set in the beautiful Kent countryside. It has provided inspirational outdoor education for Hackney schools for over 45 years.
With the stunning backdrop of the Kench Hill Gardens, the activity timetable focuses on nature and nurture where children take part in a wide range of on site activities including orienteering, shelter building, team games, problem solving, stream walks and more.
The accommodation is in the beautiful homely Georgian mansion, with separate dorms on each floor, a lounge and library, dining room and event hall for larger groups. New activities include archery, bouldering wall, assault course and Kench Hill cluedo.
The centre holds the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge and all staff are teacher trained and hold current DBS and first aid certification. Discounted rates are offered to Hackney schools.
The core values are diversity, inclusion and nurture in the environment.
