London School of Architecture (LSA)

About LSA

The LSA is a charitable organisation that looks to imagine and build more fulfilled and sustainable lives for the people who live in our cities.

The school brings together outstanding students, practices, professionals, educators and entrepreneurs to generate and champion essential new approaches to the design of the urban built environment.

Their programmes generate incremental and disruptive innovations in the design of architecture and cities, building for tomorrow.

Part of their founding mission is to find alternative routes for architecture, making architectural education more affordable and accessible. Access and outreach are ingrained in their DNA, which is why they are developing Part 0 as a vehicle to deliver - and exceed - the ambitious targets in their Access and Participation Plan. In 2022, their Access and Participation Plan Variation for 2024/25 was approved.

Part 0: expanding access to built environment careers

Part 0 offers a holistic vision for widening access to built environment careers for 13-19-year-olds. Their innovative interventions target Levels 2-5, emphasising green skills and breaking barriers to equity and diversity. Part 0:

  • Includes a ladder of learning
  • Brings coherence to a fragmented offer
  • Acts as a bridge between professions and trades, enhancing green skills and retrofit delivery
